Masterclasses for Young Flutists

The Finnish Flute Association will be organizing a masterclass for young flutists March 26 -27th, 2011. The class is meant mainly for students preparing the C- or D- exam (of the Finnish music school exam system) or pieces of that level. In addition to performing themselves, students will have the opportunity to follow the lessons of other players at their level, as well as take part in group lessons in technique.
The class will be taught by flutist Hanna Juutilainen and Petri Alanko.

Finnish Music for Flute and Orchestra 1 and 2

In honor of the Association's 25th anniversary, the Finnish Flute Association has released 2 CDs (3rd to be released during Pori Pedagogic weekend) containing 20 works by Finnish composers for Flute and Orchestra. The majority of these works were newly commisioned works or arrangements by the Association for this project. In addition to these recordings, it is hoped that these works will fill a hole in the Flute repetoire by providing pedagogic works for Flute and Orchestra.
